Essentially it's just trippy artwork done in 3D... Just a quick time killer really. Though I think with a proper application of time I could make some cool stuff... Here's my inspiration and my quick pic...

Hey that's pretty cool. Try experimenting with a Falloff map in the Reflection slot (set it to around 20-40) of the spheres. Change the Falloff type to Fresnel, also.

Uh... I really have no idea what that all means but next time I have access to the software I'll look for it. The red swirls are really the only thing refective because I used car paint material, but I left it's reflectivity defalt. Can I make anything reflective? I've been wojdering that...

You can make any material reflective, yes. In the Maps rollout of a material, you can specify a texture map, reflect/refract map, raytrace, flat mirror, thin wall refraction, and/or falloff map in the reflection slot. Of course, you can add ANY texture type there, but these will create or simulate a reflection.

Yea if the ball reflex the images around I think would look even better then already does! also the dimand shaped line add a matalic look to it. Increase the specular leval and decrease the gloss on it! Love the blue in the sphere!

Hi Zackculver,

If you don't mind me saying that is the best work that I have seen you do. Very artistic indeed. Sometimes it is harder to do something like this than doing a straight model of something, as this requires imagination.

absolutely right Asimov, this is a really nice model, and lends itself well to a trippy animation.

Let's see more imaginative work on here. Anyone (with a bit of skill) can reproduce a nice teapot or the inside of a house. ooooh got to go, it's my medication time.
